The Master of Science in Human Resource Development (HRD) program requires a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution and a minimum GPA of 3.00. Applicants with GPAs between 2.75–2.99 may be considered for conditional admission.
The MS in Human Resource Development is a 30 credit, 10 course graduate program offered at the University of Houston at Sugar Land, designed for working professionals who want to lead change and develop talent in organizations.
Courses are scheduled primarily in the evening, with hybrid and fully online options available.

Admissions
Admissions are conducted on a rolling basis for Fall and Spring semesters of each academic year. To be considered for admission, an applicant must submit the required materials and meet the following criteria:
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (A = 4.00). Applicants with GPAs between 2.75–2.99 may be considered for conditional admission.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- A personal/goal statement (1–2 pages) describing current employment, professional goals, and relevant experiences.
- Official transcripts from all prior coursework (scanned copies of official transcripts may be uploaded and used for an initial admission decision; official transcripts are required before enrollment).
- Optional: Resume (recommended).
- For international applicants: proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL: 79, IELTS: 6.5, or Duolingo: 105).
Fast Track Admissions (Current UH Students and Recent Alumni)
The MS in Human Resource Development participates in the University of Houston Fast Track Admissions process for eligible UH undergraduates and recent alumni.
Fast Track offers a simplified pathway by waiving the application fee and removing requirements such as personal statements, standardized test scores, and letters of recommendation for qualified candidates.

International Applicants
International applicants must meet all general requirements and provide:
- Transcripts evaluated and translated into English.
- Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL: 79 or IELTS: 6.5 or Duolingo: 105).
